The Flower Show
Thanks to everyone for reading about my preparations for the recent exhibition of my flower paintings at the Wallace Galleries in Calgary, who cheered on the process, and who supported the work in a myriad of ways. All of these things matter greatly, and certainly they matter in all sorts of new ways as we wind down (in some ways) in the pandemic. Being an artist is always a precarious business and I’m particularly grateful for the support I’ve received this past year or so.
I wanted to share here some of the installation photos that Colette at Wallace Galleries took. Because of Covid-19 protocols and safety measure, I had early on decided not to attend the show in person. But what was lovely was that I was able to Zoom into the opening in the afternoon. There is a condensed video you can view of that event here.
As well, before I had sent the work off to Calgary, I talked a bit about it in a video from my living room.
I also heard in private messages and in the comments on my Instagram from people who saw the exhibition in person, and this was really uplifting and heartening.
If you missed hearing me talk about the show you can catch up also by dipping into previous newsletters here.
There are still a few of the paintings available at the gallery and I’m working on more all the time. Feel free to message me here or DM me on my Instagram if you’re interested in anything you see there.
Once again, thank you all for your interest in my work. It makes all the effort that goes into creating a cohesive exhibition worthwhile.
